Awesome man! Thanks for post this pic
Boy - oh boy, That is really cool. I thought they would look great in clay. What made you decide to go with 2D rather than 3? The clay versions look sweet. Thanks for sharing. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving by the way - Mike
Looks like something you would see in a wax museum! (House of Clay, instead of House of Wax, hehe). Thanks for sharing these.-Don
the teeth aren't clay - or are they ? everything looks just awsome. Will there be an 'special' episode or sequence with them two becoming 'real' ? Great stuff. Sadly, I can't watch any moving online content due to a very limited download bandwith at the moment...
thank you "gorilla suit" person - the teeth are clay. I was thinking at the time that it might be faster to do an episode in clay vs. cel, which took me forever to get done. But it was just an experiment.
Interesting you mention the irises not being painted, I wonder if this has been lingering in my mind all year but only subconsciously- characters with irises seem more alive and exude a greater emotional range. I have worked in a way to put irises on during a heightened heartfelt scene (no idea how that's going to happen yet- ideally, they would just fade in) but kind of wish I started with them that way.
Definitely, you gotta have the irises. Our natural instinct is to be alarmed when we see a lot of white around the pupil/iris. So unless your character is really paranoid, you gotta have big pupils or a combination of iris and pupil. Or really tiny eyes, like dots - that can work too.
